I own a 2020 Ktm 790 adventure and a 2020 Ktm 1290 adventure. The 1290 is faster and quicker. I just added the Rot air box to the 790 plus dropped the front sprocket from 16 to 15 and the 1290 is still faster/quicker. Yes, as others have stated, the bikes performance is greatly effected by the rider.
Last weak, after a few hour ride, I washed thoroughly my 2018 KTM 1090 Advr. The bike has a little over 8k miles. After the wash the bike sat in the garage for a week, when I started it last Sunday, I got all sorts of warning lights and messages popping up. I went out for a ride, it rode fine, but the ABS and TC weren't working.

The MC Cruise Control install is pretty simple just read the instructions thru once or twice before you start.
I too notice a big difference in the ride modes though. I prefer street and sport modes. But Off-road is a lot more manageable in the sand and rock. #9. Filly_007 likes this. The dealer told me KTM USA will not warranty them under any circumstances and he declined to even try My main complaints about the 1290R, my first new KTM, have to do with KTM USA. I know almost nothing about KTM's but I picked up a 2019 1090R with 70 miles on it that the PO had taken home, added a number of farkles, then had to sell it. A few of the things he added were a slip-on, Rottweiler airbox with velocity stacks, and some dongle so when settings were made in off road the bike remembers them.
